How it’s used
Readings taken with a probe on an extension pole mean handling the pole, the probe and the meter at the same time. Holding the meter in one hand while steadying the pole with the other makes it hard to keep the probe still, and a meter left hanging by its tubing can swing, strain the fittings or fall.
The mount is a universal design built around interchangeable heads, so one mount can carry different meters in different ways. It comes with a clip head that cradles the meter between its upper and lower lips, and a Velcro head that straps the meter in place. A magnetic head is in the works.
The heads bolt onto a two-piece shaft collar that is made to fit your extension pole’s diameter when you order. Set screws lock the collar at any angle around the pole, and the square bolt pattern lets each head mount in different orientations, so you can position the meter however reads best for you.
Its diagonal construction makes it stronger than a straight-built clip, so it holds the meter steady with the pole fully extended. It is made from PETG, which stands up to heat, cold and everyday knocks on the job better than standard PLA.
Where it helps
- Readings at high grilles and diffusers
- Probe readings from a ladder or lift
- Fitting the meter you already own to the pole you already use
- Any reading where both hands need to stay on the pole
Report a part problem
Tell us about a part that broke, didn’t fit or could work better. Every report goes to the design team and shapes the next version of the part.
- Say what you were doing when the problem happened.
- Include how long the part had been in use, if you know.
- A photo of the damage or the fit helps the most.

We design and 3D-print fixtures, adapters and fittings for HVAC test-and-balance work. Browse the current prototypes and ask about any part for your crew.
Prototype schedule
Each part started as a problem on a real balancing job. Select a part to see how it’s used and photos of the prototype.
How our parts are developed
Every part in our catalog is designed, tested and refined in-house. We don’t take custom design work. We build and improve our own line of tools for balancing technicians.
Find the problem in the field
We start with the everyday frustrations of test-and-balance work: a hood that won’t seal, a probe that won’t stay put, a fitting that doesn’t exist yet.
Design our own solution
We design each part in-house, based on our own field experience and the common equipment technicians use every day.
Field test and refine
Prototypes go out with working technicians, and their notes shape the next version. Every revision is ours, built to make the part better for everyone who uses it.
Add it to the line
Once a design proves itself on the job, it becomes part of the Evolved Balance Hardware catalog and is available to order.
About us
We design and 3D-print small parts that make balancing work easier.
- What we make
- Fixtures, adapters and fittings for capture hoods, probes, dampers and instruments.
- Who it’s for
- Test-and-balance technicians, commissioning agents and mechanical contractors.
- How we work
- All designs are our own and developed in-house. Every part is field tested by working technicians before it’s offered.
