How it’s used
A capture hood travels from job to job with its tools, probes and accessories packed inside. Loose tools shift around in the truck, and anything sharp can pierce the fabric shroud. A punctured shroud leaks air and has to be repaired before the hood can take an accurate reading.
The organizer packs into the base of the hood, under the existing frame, and gives each tool its own compartment. Lids close over both halves, so everything stays in place on the road and nothing can reach the shroud.
It comes in two halves that fit around the center of the hood. Locking dovetails join the left and right organizers into one solid piece, and the halves separate again for cleaning or unpacking.
Where it helps
- Transporting a capture hood between jobs
- Keeping tools and accessories packed with the hood
- Protecting the shroud from punctures in a truck or van
Report a part problem
Tell us about a part that broke, didn’t fit or could work better. Every report goes to the design team and shapes the next version of the part.
- Say what you were doing when the problem happened.
- Include how long the part had been in use, if you know.
- A photo of the damage or the fit helps the most.

Thanks for telling us. We read every report, and we’ll email you if we need more detail.
Back to all partsParts made for the people who balance the air
We design and 3D-print fixtures, adapters and fittings for HVAC test-and-balance work. Browse the current prototypes and ask about any part for your crew.
Prototype schedule
Each part started as a problem on a real balancing job. Select a part to see how it’s used and photos of the prototype.
How our parts are developed
Every part in our catalog is designed, tested and refined in-house. We don’t take custom design work. We build and improve our own line of tools for balancing technicians.
Find the problem in the field
We start with the everyday frustrations of test-and-balance work: a hood that won’t seal, a probe that won’t stay put, a fitting that doesn’t exist yet.
Design our own solution
We design each part in-house, based on our own field experience and the common equipment technicians use every day.
Field test and refine
Prototypes go out with working technicians, and their notes shape the next version. Every revision is ours, built to make the part better for everyone who uses it.
Add it to the line
Once a design proves itself on the job, it becomes part of the Evolved Balance Hardware catalog and is available to order.
